A nation's progress is not judged by its wealth but by how well its underprivileged section of people are taken care of. We take everything in life for granted and seldom are we contented with whatever we have been gifted with. If we ponder over what we do every day from dawn to dusk, we can hardly find ourselves thankful for the basic things we have. This is because we are thankful only when we achieve anything other than the ordinary.
MOHOR, as the name suggests, stands for "Gold Coin" which is considered to be precious even by the wealthiest and the most impoverished. MOHOR is much more than a symbol of riches — broadly, it synonyms the sense of security. We at MOHOR are striving to make our lives something more meaningful than just living it every day — by bringing in differences from tears to joy, from failures to successes, even if the magnitude is minute. Our efforts are directed to create extraordinary opportunities for below ordinary kids, to rehabilitate them and bring them as close as possible to normal social lives.

Several people like Helen Keller, Stephen Hawking, Beethoven and among Indian Rabindro Jain, Masudur Rahaman Vaidya, dancer Sudha Chandran, Kanchan Gabba, Sadhan Gupta proved that a man can rise above his/her weakness. The number of institutions working with such people specially with disabled children are very few in comparison to the growing number of disabled population.
A few from Kasba, have felt the need to establish such an Institution in the locality, and started the activities at 39/3, R.K.Chatterjee Road, Kolkata - 700042 (Recreation Club Premises).
